Once again, I did not get out to take pictures. Why, might you ask? I started taking statins for high cholesterol, and my body said, “Are you sure?” Genetics… sometimes you get long eyelashes with light eyes, and sometimes you get high cholesterol. So I spent the weekend at home, pouting and feeling like trash.
I went through my archives and was reminded of a lovely morning taking pictures in Breckenridge, Colorado, in August 2022. At the time, we had recently got our conversion van, but it hadn’t yet been converted. I was itching to get out and adventure in the van, which inspired me to wake up early and drive up Boreas Pass to take pictures.
I numbered the shots. Do you have a favorite?
Mine is 7. The high contrast, heavy shadow, black and white edit is my calling card plus I love the craggyness of the mountains.
Fun little story: it was chilly that morning at 9,600 feet. I kept getting in and out of the car, at times getting excited about the shots while leaving the car door open. When I was sufficiently cold and hungry, I tried to start the car… dead battery. Adam had already started his morning bike ride, so he rode up Boreas Pass to meet me. As he got to my vehicle, a Summit County maintenance worker drove by - so random! He had jumper cables and got my car started. I felt like an absolute moron, but it all worked out in the end.
Cheers.
I’ve been meaning to get to Colorado to shoot life just kept getting in the way :/ I really loved this! Truly beautiful! Subbed and followed! Looking forward to seeing more of your work!
Absolutely gorgeous photos! Love them all!
