Such a beautiful area. My first experience in Colorado NM was 52 years ago. I rode my bicycle with a friend cross country. Finding ourselves in Grand Junction we rode up the road, spent a night at the campground and out the next day on our way towards Moab. I will never forget riding downhill and the hairpin turns, and gravel on the road, and 2 ft high stone wall between us and the cliff. One of the more exciting 30 minutes of bicycle riding in my life.
Adam really enjoys riding through the monument when he visits. He agrees - very exciting to take the hairpin turns going a speed that he won't tell me...
It looks amazing there. Sometimes I wish that there was somewhere I could visit to let out a “feral, guttural scream” 😁. It’s not too easy in the city.
Loved how the canyon became more accessible once conditioning improved, that shift from mysteryous world below to actually walking through it. That moment with Jen's scream bouncing off teh walls really captures something about how landscapes transform when we interact with them versus just observe. Sometimes I remmeber specific trail sounds like that way more than the views.
"We will throw 'I love you' echoes down the canyon
And then lie awake at night until they come back around"
Good photos. you take me to the places I can no longer visit.
Thanks Jerry! I'd never heard that song before - had to Google the lyrics, then listen to the song. It's a good one!
Beautiful area!
It's so beautiful 😍
I so love the patterns in the rock. Beautiful!
I agree!

An amazing landscape😃. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Ralph! It's quite lovely, and it changes depending on the season. It'd be nice to see the area with some wildflowers.
Looks like such a great, beautiful place. 💜
(And so cool that you found an echo chamber!!!)
It's a good one, definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Ha ha! I was too self-conscious to scream down the canyon. No reason not to considering we were completely alone.

Beautiful canyon! I strikes me how unique every place is.
It's a nice part of the state, and I love how different it feels from other areas. I feel pretty spoiled living in Colorado.
Gorgeous and tempting photos!
Thanks Janet! It was a great location, so beautiful ❤️
