Dispersed camping is a term used to describe camping outside of designated campgrounds. In the western United States (especially Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Colorado), there is quite a bit of national forest land or land controlled by the Bureau of Land Management. You can camp in these areas for up to fourteen days at a time for free.
Glorious sunsets!

Similarish to wild camping in Scotland, although wild camping in camper vans isn't allowed unless they have their own toilet.
