My thoughts on the “tiny jagged mountains”: those look like baby Tetons! And then I read your comment of basically the same. It’s fun to share a thought, even virtually. My favorite image? Where your father in law was seen in the window. He made the images seem more possible for human activity that had once been there. Pulling up anchor is SO SOOOO HARD!!
Love the window shot on the back side of the cabin!
Thanks Shital!
Beautiful photos! Those old abandoned cabins are great fun to capture. What must it have been like to have lived at 11,000 feet back in those days!
Trying to survive a winter at 11,000 feet - brutal. That's all I could think about too!
I love those old buildings found around the mountains. I always would wonder about what stories still lingered from whoever had used them.
Beautiful photos - thank you for sharing!
Absolutely! Apparently there is history with this area: https://www.backpacker.com/trips/trips-by-state/colorado-trails/hike-boston-mine-colorado/
Beautiful work!
Thanks Glenn!
Ooooh! That’s my kinda vacation. Such views.
Thanks Ahalya. It was certainly a summer of views!
Love the first window shot. Makes me miss Colorado terribly!
Thanks Michael! If I didn't love her, I would miss it too! This is definitely my forever home 😍
*live here* oof
Beautiful collection of photos. I really like the window shot and the b & w edit was a good choice.
Thanks Mark - I appreciate the kind words!
I can smell the views. Thank you for the memories.
You're welcome! The smell of pines, especially when they're wet with snow, is incredible!
I've been there a coupla times. Here in my Substack (scroll down to the bottom)

Love it! I'm so glad to see other people's photos from the same place I've been! ❤️ Thank you for sharing (and thanks for the restack).
Wow!
The window shot from inside is incredible (and all of them are fabulous).
Thanks Sarah!
Looks like a great photo adventure.
Thanks Charlie!
Love the framing you did with that cool old cabin. Beautiful scenes.
Thank you!
the window shots are everything
Thank you!
My girls and I did that hike a couple years ago and love it. It's so beautiful back there.
That's a great hike for kids, especially with the payoff at the end. I can imagine in full summer, no snow, that kids could run around like crazy!
Seeing snow is so strange this time of year!
It was a month ago, so definitely less snow now. Spring is much later in the mountains than I ever remember 😂
